Day 3
I downloaded a new app on my iPhone called Marathon Trainer (it was 1.99), and sadly, I read the reviews AFTER I downloaded. However, I ran the "Day 1" today. It was not so bad, 5 min warm up, 5 min run, 5 min cool down. The GPS tracker worked, and said that I traveled 1.7 miles. I will continue to use it for the next week or so and give a more detailed analysis.

Day 2
So I overslept. Day 2, and I am already waiving in my drive. However, after a few invigorating hours observing at a local day camp, I was able to go for a quick run... outside... at... noon. Anyone who has run outside in Georgia in the summer at noon will attest that it is not the smartest idea. I lasted twenty minutes. For a total of 1.67 miles. Yuck. We will try this again tomorrow.

Day 1
So on a whim, I decided to sign up for the Disney Marathon. It wasn't really a whim, but I probably wasn't thinking with the clearest mind at the Atlanta Half Marathon Expo where I found myself standing at the Disney booth, pulling out my credit card and signing up for a race that was nearly a year away.
However, the race is much less than a year away, and I am about to embark on my marathon prep journey. So I decided to blog. And keep up with my progress (or lack of progress) via blogger, so if anyone out there wants to join me in my quest... hop on in!
Today was day one of training. I did a 3.5 miler around my house, and the Georgia weather was beautiful. I started running at 7:30, finished around 8:15. Not bad for a first run.
